MY TWO CENTS:
Happy New Year!!
It’s hard to believe that the first month of the New Year is almost over. It’s even more difficult for me to believe that our loyal readers haven’t read any new ramblings from me since Thanksgiving of 2017. That little sabbatical has given me a bit of time to ponder…so let’s get 2018 started with a bang!
If you’re “above average” (as is the case with all of our readers), you’re only hanging onto your New Year’s resolutions by a thin thread. Since resolutions are usually blown-up within the first three weeks of the year and a distant memory after the first few months, I prefer to set goals rather than resolutions.
When I think about a resolution, I think about something you’re going to stop doing, or start doing because it’s “good for you.” When I think about goals, I think about something that stirs your soul. I think about something that makes you want to get up in the morning. I think about something whose pursuit isn’t a drudgery. Instead…it’s a joy to be living your life toward something you value!
So…no matter where you are in sticking to your resolutions or setting/pursuing your goals, would you humor me and answer two quick, and critical, questions?
- What is the one thing that, when you pursue it this year, will allow you to feel like you have your priorities in order?
- Who do you have alongside you to encourage you, to challenge you, to lift you up, and to hold you accountable to what YOU said is important in your life?
I believe that your intentional legacy begins to be lived out in your daily life when you can clearly answer those two questions. And, you can’t leave an intentional legacy without living an intentional life!
If you would like to share your goals and priorities, or would like to have someone alongside you through your journey and in your pursuit, please drop us a line. That is WHY we do what we do!!
Make it a great week, and here’s to an amazing 2018!
