MY TWO CENTS:
Our family will be traveling during Christmas and New Year’s, so this will be my last weekly rant until the week of January 9, 2017. While I know this will cause many of our diligent readers great sadness and despondency as they eagerly await our next iteration, I’d like to provide something that could be of value for your consideration this next couple of weeks.
This season always brings me to a deeper state of gratitude for the blessings in my life. The retailers and media of the world would like us to believe that our blessings can be bought “on sale” or “for a limited time only” through their store or website. Acknowledging that we have a tremendous amount of material blessing, I find that the greatest blessings are those things that simply aren’t for sale and can’t be earned. As you reflect on your own blessings, I would like to encourage you to consider what kind of blessing you can be to those in your life.
Whether or not you are a Christian, the reason we celebrate Christmas is to remember the unearned gift that God gave us in His son, Jesus. Our family will be working hard to maintain our focus on that specific blessing in our lives this season. We hope that the love, joy, and peace that came in a newborn baby over 2000 years ago will fill you and your family this year as well!
